Overview

Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj is regarded as the “Father of Independence” and the “Father of the Nation”. The country’s first Prime Minister, he was the key figure in bringing Malaya independence from the British in 1957. He continued to serve as Prime Minister until 1970, after the formation of Malaysia in 1963. The memorial is dedicated to the man, his achievements and his leadership of the nation.
