Overview

Housed in a very impressive colonial-ear building, which was completed in 1905, the National Textile Museum is divided into four galleries over two floors. The museum takes a very broad view of what constitutes textiles with exhibits that include tree bark, costumes made from animal furs, shoes and even jewellery. Showcasing the history and traditions of the different people of Malaysia, the museum is well worth a visit even for those not overly fascinated by textiles.
